Workers from Britain's National Health Service (NHS) hold a picket line outside St Bartholomew's Hospital in London as both junior and senior doctors go on strike for the longest period yet. Junior doctors and first time consultants in England launched their first ever joint strike day on September 20. Now, joint action in their pay dispute with the government will last for three days from 0600 GMT on Monday 2 October to 0600 GMT on Thursday 5 October.
