A tanker carrying Russian liquefied natural gas, or LNG, finally landed in Boston on Sunday, despite US-imposed sanctions against the company operating the Russian facility. The French LNG tanker Gaselys landed after sitting outside Boston Harbour for several days. This shipment of Russian LNG to the US is unprecedented and is considered to be the first Russian LNG imported into the United States.
Darya Trepova, a 26-year-old accused of killing a military blogger and supporter of Moscow's Ukraine offensive, appears in court for her case's first hearing. Russian investigators say Ukraine orchestrated the attack on Vladlen Tatarsky, which took place at a cafe in Saint Petersburg in April. Trepova is alleged to have gifted Tatarsky a statuette, which exploded minutes later, killing the blogger and wounding more than 30 others. Ukraine has denied involvement and blamed domestic infighting for the killing. IMAGES
European Union energy ministers meet in Brussels to debate measures to mitigate the energy crunch in Europe but are divided over a gas price cap proposal slammed by many as a "joke". The proposal, that would set a cap on gas prices at 275 euros per megawatt hour, was unveiled only 2 days ago. IMAGES
