Singaporeans with dementia find their groove at silent disco

Description

Residents with dementia hold hands and dance to golden oldies at a Singapore care home under a 'silent disco' initiative to help those with the disorder. In a silent disco format, they listen to tunes via their headphones. "Studies have generally shown that musical programmes do have positive outcomes on persons with dementia in terms of their overall well-being, cognition and emotion," Grace Wong, Associate Psychologist at Apex Harmony Lodge says.
