'Love is in the Bin': Shredded Banksy artwork sells for nearly €22 million at auction
A portrait of chimps sitting in the UK parliament instead of politicians has been sold at auction for more than 11 million euros. The price tag is a record for Banksy, the secretive UK street artist.
The skeleton of an extremely rare form of dinosaur sold for more than two million euros ($2.3 million) at the Eiffel Tower in Paris on Monday. The bones of what scientists believe to be "probably a new species" of the carnivorous allosaurus were discovered during a dig in Wyoming in the United States in 2013. The 150-million-year-old skeleton, which is 70 percent intact, was snapped up by an unnamed French art collector, who promised that the specimen will be lent out to a museum.
Residents of the famous Louveciennes commune reacted to news that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman was the mystery buyer of the $320 million Chateau Louis XIV. Two years ago, the Chateau Louis XIV was sold for over $300 million and Fortune magazine called it “the world’s most expensive home" but the identity of the owner was unknown. On Sunday it was revealed that the identity of the mystery buyer was none other than Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, heir to the Saudi throne.
