Ukrainian artists refuse pro-Russian 'cultural propaganda'

Description

One year after the full-scale invasion of their country, we speak to Ukrainian artist Alyona Tokovenko and opera singer Ihor Mostovoi about the consequences of the last 12 months. Now participating in an artistic residence at the Cité des Arts in Paris, Alyona explains how the political reality has now become a personal, bodily concern and why she's able to express that in her artwork. Ihor tells us about the fundraising concerts that are helping humanitarian missions on the ground, as well as highlighting the Ukrainian musical repertoire. We also take a look at an immersive exhibition that shines a light on seminal Ukrainian artists and see how creatives on the ground have adapted their practice to a time of war.
