NATO is stepping up chemical and nuclear defences for it forces in eastern Europe in the face of fears over Russia's war on Ukraine, says alliance Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg. SOUNDBITE
Images of the border crossing of Novi Yarylovychi where more than one thousand Hasidic Jews including children, who have sought to travel to a pilgrimage site in Ukraine, are being held up at the country's border with Belarus due to coronavirus restrictions. NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg says Ukraine "simply cannot wait" for more air defences as Kyiv pleads with Western allies to step up deliveries to stave off Russia's attacks. Speaking in Brussels, during a press conference alongside Finland's President Alexander Stubb, Stoltenberg says "delays in funding are having direct consequences on the ground every day." SOUNDBITE
Aerial footage released by a pro-Ukraine militia shows an alleged drone attack on a Russian armoured military vehicle in a village on the Kursk border region. Additional images published by another volunteer group also claim to show a gun battle on the border. IMAGES
Polish farmers block the border with Ukraine at Dorohusk to protest against European directives and "uncontrolled" imports of agricultural products from Ukraine. IMAGES
A group of 16 foreign nationals from Ukraine, Russia and Belarus go on trial in a Polish court on charges of espionage, preparing acts of sabotage and gathering information for Russia. The defendants include a Russian hockey player who played in the Polish league. The verdict for 14 of the 16 defendants who plead guilty is expected later today. IMAGES
