Business Insider reports that a Republican congressional candidate in Iowa is set to win her race by just six votes after a recount. GOP candidate Mariannette Miller-Meeks is set to win Iowa's second Congressional District. She will beat Democrat Rita Hart by just 0.001% of the vote. Miller-Meeks was initially named as the winner of the race. She flipped Iowa's second congressional district from blue to red after 13 years of Democratic control. However, her opponent asked for a recount due to the narrow nature of Miller-Meeks' win.
Georgia's Republican Rep. Doug Collins served in the House for seven years and has raised his political profile as the ranking member on the House Judiciary Committee. However, Business Insider reports his reelection campaign is under fire for showing numerous ads featuring Collins wearing his US Air Force uniform. Collins serves as a lieutenant colonel in the Air Force Reserves. He previously deployed to Iraq as a chaplain. Several of Collins' images appeared to violate the Defense Department's regulations intended to protect the military's apolitical status. Ads must indicate their retired or reserve status and include a disclaimer stating that the Defense Department does not necessarily endorse them. Apoplectic Republican Senate Judiciary Committee members plan to subpoena Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey. They want him to testify about Twitter's decision to block links to a dubious New York Post article about Joe Biden's son, Hunter Biden. The New York Post article contains unverified emails purportedly taken from Hunter Biden's laptop. Twitter says it considered the emails to have been hacked. According to Business Insider, those same emails were provided to the newspaper by Rudy Giuliani, President Donald Trump's personal lawyer. Hunter Biden has denied the story's veracity. Twitter said it blocked people from sharing links to the Post's story Wednesday for violating its policies against distributing 'hacked materials.'
