Climate activists poured black liquid over a glass screen protecting Gustav Klimt's masterpiece "Death and Life" in Vienna on Tuesday, in the latest protest targeting a famous artwork designed to draw attention to global warming.
Climate activists from the group 'Letzte Generation Österreich' (Last Generation Austria) pour black liquid over Austrian painter Gustav Klimt's masterpiece "Death and Life" at Vienna's Leopold Museum. "Restorers are working to determine whether the painting, protected by glass, has been damaged" said museum spokesman Klaus Pokorny.
Activists disrupted the tourist hotspot to protest the government’s inaction on climate change.
Climate activists from the Last Generation group targeted Rome's iconic Trevi fountain, turning its waters black before being removed by police. The group has previously thrown food at famous paintings and protested at Milan's La Scala opera house.
Although climate change has been conspicuously absent from Nigeria's political agenda, the tangible effects of global warming are undeniably present.
