A sweeping US foreign aid package, including $60 billion for Ukraine, passes a key procedural vote in the Senate, although opposition from right-wing Republicans may block it from ultimately becoming law. The upper chamber, which has a very slim Democratic majority, votes 67-27 to break a procedural hold placed on the bill, with its final passage now expected midweek. IMAGES
Rescuers work in the Solomyansky district of Kyiv after a barrage of Russian missile attacks killed four people, including one in Kyiv, and wounded 27 others in the capital, according to officials. Images show the aftermath of a Russian attack on the Darnytskyi district of Ukraine's capital Kyiv. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said on Telegram that according to medics, seven people were injured in that district. Ukrainian military authorities said Russia launched cruise missile attacks on Kyiv overnight. The falling debris from shot-down missiles resulted in seven people injured and damage to buildings. Images show air defence intercepting nighttime drone attacks and smoke rising above the city in Lviv, Ukraine, the day after the attacks. According to Lviv mayor Andriy Sadovyi three warehouses were destroyed and one person was killed. Ukraine says its air defence systems had downed 27 Shahed drones launched overnight in Russia's latest aerial barrage. "A total of 30 attack UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles) were launched... As a result of combat work, 27 Shaheds were shot down by air defence units," the Ukrainian air force said on social media. IMAGES
