Heads of France and Germany meet in Paris despite strained relationship and differing views over sending tanks to Ukraine.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is in Paris to meet President Emmanuel Macron this Wednesday. The pair is working to repair the Franco-German alliance that's witnessing some turbulence as the war in Ukraine continues. Jacob Ross, Research fellow in the Franco-German Relations Program at the German Council on Foreign relations, gives his opinion about this meeting.
Both countries have bones to pick with the other on issues ranging from energy to defence.

French President Emmanuel Macron hosted German Chancellor Olaf Scholz for lunch, with both sides saying they made progress towards easing differences on energy and defence dogging the European Union's vital double act.
