British Foreign Secretary David Cameron urges members of the US Congress to approve a Ukraine aid package. "We should be standing up for freedom, standing up for the right of this country to defend itself and making sure that Putin doesn't win," he says while on a visit to Bulgaria. The Republican leader of the US House of Representatives blocked war aid for Ukraine on February 13, ignoring President Joe Biden's plea that passing the bill was vital for standing up to Russian President Vladimir Putin. Washington urges Russian President Vladimir Putin to negotiate "in good faith" on US detainees Evan Gershkovich and Paul Whelan. "So far, we've seen them refuse to take us up on our proposals, and we hope that they will change the way they've handled this going forward," US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller tells reporters.
