At least one person was killed and eight injured when a car drove into a group of people in central Berlin, the fire service says. A police spokeswoman said the driver was detained at the scene after the car ploughed into a shop front along busy shopping street Tauentzienstrasse. It is not clear whether the crash was intentional, police said. The accident happened just across Breitscheidplatz, where an Islamic State group sympathiser ploughed a truck through a Christmas market in 2016, killing 12. IMAGES
