For Muslims across the world, the beginning of the ninth month in the Muslim lunar calendar, which marks the start of Ramadan, is a time for spiritual reflection, prayers and fasting. During Ramadan, practising Muslims do not eat, drink, smoke or have sex between sunrise and sunset. IMAGES
The Super Blue Moon rises over Jerusalem's Dome of the Rock. The Super Blue Moon is a celestial occurrence which combines two events, a supermoon, when the moon is closest to earth, and a blue moon - the third full moon in a season of four. Although this rare cosmic event usually happens once every 10 years, NASA said that there was a Super Blue Moon in August last year as well. IMAGES
