US, EU strike LNG deal to help wean Europe off Russian gas


US President Joe Biden announced a deal on Friday to supply the European Union with more liquefied natural gas to help wean it off Russian supplies and to work together on accelerating a shift to renewable energy.

The rescue operation is ongoing.

    CCTV footage captured the moment a gas explosion ripped through a high-rise flat in the city of Ryazan, about 120 miles southeast of Moscow, in the early hours of Sunday, sending a huge boom through the neighborhood and a massive shower of concrete and debris on to cars parked below. A total of three people died and more than dozens were injured in the incident. The blast caused structural damage to the top floors of the 11-story flat.
