EU chief Ursula von der Leyen urges the bloc's 27 leaders to back massive financial aid for Ukraine and Kyiv's ambitions for membership talks, ahead of a crunch summit. European Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen says she welcomed Chinese leader Xi Jinping's stated willingness to hold talks with Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky. "It was interesting to hear that President Xi reiterated his willingness to speak when conditions and time are right.
