Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu oversees training routines of contract service members at a military ground situated in Russia's south, according to the Defence Ministry, in the region bordering Ukraine.
Russia's Defence Ministry said the haul included tanks, rocket launchers, heavy artillery, 2,500 tonnes of ammunition and some 20,000 small arms.

Historical war doctrines, including strategies from trench-based conflicts like World War I, are being used to train Ukrainian volunteers in the north of England. The training has, of course, been updated to address the realities of modern warfare, including the use of drones and sophisticated weaponry. Instructors say the training process is reciprocal one, incorporating feedback and experiences from the Ukrainian frontlines to fine-tune tactics for different environments.
Since the start of May, Russia has increasingly been ceding the initiative. Moscow's forces have been reacting to Ukrainian action rather than actively progressing towards their own war aims.
