A search operation is underway at the crash site of the Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 near Bishoftu, a town some 60 kilometres southeast of Addis Ababa. The aircraft crashed minutes after an early-morning takeoff, killing all eight crew and 149 passengers on board, including tourists, business travellers, and at least one delegate to a UN meeting. An Indonesian plane with 54 people on board that went missing on Sunday was found to have crashed in a mountainous region in Ok Bape district of Papua province. No survivors have yet been reported.The Trigana airlines plane took off from Jayapura at 2:22 p.m. and was scheduled to land in Oksibil at 3:16 p.m.. The aircraft was carrying five crew and 49 passengers, including five children, an Indonesian government official said to Reuters.
