First look: Sram Rival eTap AXS: wireless electronic shifting that doesn't cost the earth

Description

Sram has stolen a march on its competitors by being the first to market with a lower-priced, third tier offering of its proven wireless eTap AXS shifting. No longer is wireless electronic shifting the preserve of superbikes and pros, as Sram has now trickled down this technology to potentially get it into the hands of a lot more riders, as crucially the lower tier pricing means we could see it available on bikes from as little as £2,500. Not only does the groupset look classy, with a premium feel to the components too, but it doesn’t disappoint out on the road. In this video Cyclist’s Senior Editor, Stu Bowers, takes you through the details, and gives a few of his first ride impressions For the full launch story as well as a more detailed first ride review click here https://www.cyclist.co.uk/sram/9405/sram-rival-etap-axs If you enjoyed this video, and found the content useful please make sure to give it a thumbs up and share it with your friends Keep up to date with more of our content by subscribing to our channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/Cyclistthrilloftheride/featured?sub_confirmation=1 and also our Newsletter, here: https://bit.ly/3tUWWYt See the latest news, tech and in-depth product and bike reviews on our website https://www.cyclist.co.uk/ Cyclist Shop:https://shop.cyclist.co.uk/ Submit your questions and comments below Tell us what new cycling trends/topics excite you? • New Sram Force eTap AXS Wide chainset and front mech

Cyclist Off-Road Editor, Stu Bowers, explains how Sram's latest Force eTap AXS DUB Wide axle and Wide front derailleur can help gravel riders. Far from being "yet another" axle standard to add to the considerable heap, this one is particularly useful, and will be good news for anyone that wants to use wide tyres AND a 2x drivetrain. • All-new LDV eDeliver 7 - doesn’t cost the Earth

As businesses look to build sustainable fleets, electric vehicles are required to provide capability, comfort and value in a package that’s both commercially and economically viable – welcome to the all-new eDeliver 7, a fully-electric mid-size van from LDV, one of Australia’s leading commercial EV brands.Aimed squarely at sole traders, SMEs, transport companies and corporate fleets who want to reduce their environmental footprint, the eDeliver 7 delivers for Australian businesses thanks to whisper quiet progress, reduced maintenance costs, zero battery impact on cargo space and, critically, price. The all-new eDeliver 7 is LDV’s fourth electric vehicle, alongside the eDeliver 9 large van, Australia’s first electric ute, the eT60, and the MIFA 9 electric people mover. These well-earned EV hard yards have allowed LDV to develop one of the largest EV ready dealer networks in Australia, and nurture firm relationships with companies that are committed to a more sustainable corporate fleet.Much like its EV siblings, the all-new eDeliver 7 demands no compromise from an operational perspective and continues to deliver exactly what’s needed from a commercial vehicle: range, features, price and ease of ownership.Four electric variants make up the eDeliver 7 range: a short wheelbase low roof; long wheelbase low roof model, available with either 77kWh or 88kWh batteries; and a long wheelbase high roof available with an 88kWh battery only. All are available to order in white, blue or black. The all-new eDeliver 7 has redefined the boxy appearance of many white vans with its new futuristic face. Its distinctive and design-lead front grille with dusk-sensing LEDs portray the streamlined look of an EV while also serving as the larger air intake required to cool any later ICE variants.LED rear tail-lights, rear barn doors with two-stage opening, and a single sliding side door complete the sleek aesthetic.All-new eDeliver 7s have strong powertrain capabilities, thanks to batteries built in a joint venture between SAIC and China’s largest battery maker, CATL. The standard 77kWh battery can achieve a pure electric range of up to 318kms on the SWB low roof model and will take approximately 8hrs to charge on an 11kW AC home charger (5-100%), or approximately 43mins to charge from 20-80% on a rapid DC charger.

  • Why Authentic Handwoven Panama Hats May Not Be Long For This Earth

Ecuadorean weavers in the Andean mountains have been making authentic Panama hats by hand for centuries. In fact, it takes a weaver an entire day to make just one hat--and earn just five US dollars. That's not enough to keep up with the cost of living. According to Business Insider, the traditional artisan craft is now in danger of disappearing into the fog of history. In the small village of Puzhio, for example, the number of hat weavers has dropped from 124 to just 25 in the past 15 years. Many have left the country in search of more lucrative--and less tedious--work. And those who remain have little faith that future generations will carry on the tradition.
