Indian farmers, government pursue talks over new agriculture laws amid months-long protests

Description

Indian farmers and authorities could have found a possible breakthrough in negotiations over farming reforms. The government offered to suspend the implementation of the reforms which have brought thousands of farmers to the streets of New Delhi in a months-long sit-in, making it Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s biggest challenge since his re-election in 2019.
