As the rain continues to pour, rescue efforts have been hampered in Blantyre, Malawi. Authorities have said that at least 99 people have so far died in Malawi due to the flooding caused by cyclone Freddy. IMAGES
As cyclone Freddy returns to Malawi, heavy rains have caused flooding and landslides, leaving people stranded without shelter. So far, more than 99 people have been killed in Malawi, after mudslides washed away houses and sleeping occupants, according to authorities. IMAGES
The southern region of Malawi including Blantyre city has received torrential rains since the powerful storm hit the small African nation last week. The flooding cut off a main road after parts of it fell. Malawi's president has declared a state-of-disaster in several southern districts including Blantyre. So far according to the Red Cross more than 60 bodies have been found in the southern part of the country. IMAGES
