Members of France's emergency services are already stationed in front of the holiday resort of Carry-le-Rouet, near Marseille, ahead of the arrival of 200 French citizens repatriated from Wuhan, the epicentre of the coronavirus epidemic. One hundred forty six South Africans return to South Africa and are taken to a quarantine facility by bus after they were working and studying in Wuhan city, which was placed under lockdown for around two months after the novel virus was first detected in December. The returnees will only be released after they get a clean bill of health at the end of the mandatory quarantine.
