Zardari was married to Benazir Bhutto, the first female Prime Minister of an Islamic nation, who was assassinated in 2007. Five police officers arrested 63-year-old Zardari on charges related to suspicious transactions totaling 4.4 billion Pakistani rupees, or about 29 million US dollars.

    Julian Assange faces 17 new charges that could get him 175 years behind bars. The U.S. Government filed new charges against Assange on Thursday. The indictment accuses Assange of obtaining and disclosing national defense information about the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. He was also charged with conspiracy to commit computer intrusion by the US in April, bringing the total number of charges to 18. The charges were approved by a Virginia Grand Jury.
