Ekmat était commerçant en Afghanistan avant d'en être chassé par les talibans et s’invente une nouvelle vie dans un supermarché oriental de Vandoeuvre-lès-Nancy. Shawali, réfugié âgé de 36 ans, apprend désormais le métier de canalisateur près de Nancy. Dans son pays, l’Afghanistan, il dirigeait une entreprise de construction avant de s’exiler sous la menace. Un millier de réfugiés sont formés en France dans le cadre d'un programme original baptisé Hope. Il favorise leur insertion dans des secteurs en tension qui manquent de bras, comme le BTP ou l'industrie.Nous avons suivi le quotidien de plusieurs d'entre-eux, dans le Grand-Est.
