Murders, Killings By Cops Are Still Rising In Rio De Janeiro

The number of murders and people killed in police confrontations is still rising in Rio de Janiero. Six months ago, Brazil sent in federal forces to take control of security in the state. President Michel Temer announced emergency measures in February. He authorized the army to take command of police forces in Rio de Janeiro state. In the last 6 months, there were 3,479 murders in the state, up nearly 5 percent from last year.
