Mizoram, Oct 14 (EFE/EPA).- When Tial Hnin, a Burmese refugee in India, learned about a gunfight between guerrillas and the Myanmar Army back home, the first thing he did was to contact his two sons, who joined a revolutionary rebel group.The assistant professor at the University of Hakha, the capital of the Chin region in Myanmar, fled to the northeastern Indian state of Mizoram on Sep 10, after the military regime intensified the crackdown on civilians to suppress an anti-coup uprising.His two sons joined a civil militia, known as the Chinland Defense Force, one of the groups fighting the Myanmar military after the Feb.1 coup. And according to Business Insider, a White House source says that Melania is mentally 'checked out' and doesn't want to 'get involved' anymore. As a mob of Trump supporters broke into the US Capitol on Wednesday, Mrs. Trump chose to focus on finishing a photoshoot for her coffee table book. The book is about decorative items she's restored in the president's residence since her husband took office four years ago. A source familiar with the first lady's schedule says Mrs. Trump was busy overseeing the photographing of rugs and other items in the West Wing.
Just days before being canned by President Donald Trump, Secretary of Defense Mark Esper denied serving as the president's yes-man in the Pentagon. According to Business Insider, Esper told the Military Times he challenges the president more than any other Cabinet-level leader. President Donald Trump fired Esper Monday, providing no reason. However, the president has previously purged officials for a perceived lack of loyalty. Esper and the Commander in Chief have locked horns on numerous issues, most notably over Esper's order to cease flying the Confederate flag on US military bases. Also, Esper also tried to distance himself from a politically-charged photo op, in which Trump awkwardly clutched a Bible in front of a church near the White House. Federal troops pepper-sprayed peaceful protesters in Lafayette Park, so the way would be cleared for Trump, Esper, and other officials to walk to the church.
Two employees recount the most significant changes that have taken place in the SEAT Martorell factory on the occasion of its 25th anniversary. Ergonomics and the presence of robots to handle the most cumbersome jobs are just some of the advances towards Industry 4.0. The production time of a new car has gone down from 60 hours to the present 16. The Martorell factory has grown in size, equivalent now to 400 football fields, and has produced close to 10 million cars in the last quarter century. The SEAT Martorell factory, inaugurated in 1993, turns 25 this year. “I was only 18 years old when I first stepped into the Martorell factory and I remember the Barcelona Olympic Games had recently been held. I was an apprentice and my colleagues and I had high hopes for the future – everything was new and we were told that it was the most modern factory in Europe”. This is how Juan Pérez, who currently heads the Press Processes, recalls those early days 25 years ago at the SEAT Martorell factory. Both Juan and his colleague Victor Manuel Díaz, who is responsible for Teamwork, Standardisation and Shopfloor Management, have experienced historic changes in the plant over the last quarter century.
