In Bishkek hundreds celebrate the resignation of President Sooronbay Jeenbekov. The crowd had gathered close at a hotel close to the presidential palace for the start of a protest rally when news of his resignation arrived. In a statement Jeenbekov said that he had "taken the decision to resign" amid a crisis that began over disputed parliamentary elections in the Central Asian state. IMAGES
Malians take to the streets in the capital Bamako, despite rainfall and pleas from mediators to stay home, to demand the resignation of President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita.
