Welcome to Wuqiao, the birthplace of Chinese acrobatics, where toddlers leave bystanders in awe with baffling somersaults, jumps, and juggling. A new cargo train will connect Italy and China directly, and the first service departed from the northern Italian city of Mortara on Tuesday, bound for China's Chengdu. The 11,000-killometer, or 6,800 mile, route stretches across the territories of Poland, Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan before crossing all of Western China to arrive in Chengdu. The trip takes around 18 days, almost 20 days less than shipping the cargo by sea. The train consists of 17 coaches and 34 containers which can carry equipment, electronics, furniture, and cars.
This glass-bottomed pool, which is attached to the ninth story of a hotel in China, offers scenic views of the terrifying drop below and is believed to be the highest altitude pool with a glass bottom in the world. Brave bathers can take a dip in the frightening see-through pool at the Wanfu hot spring hotel in Zhangjiajie. The 2 foot deep and six and a half feet wide dipping pool hangs off the side of the nine-story steel structure of the hotel and overlooks the verdant Hunan hills.
