King Charles III arrives at the University College Hospital Macmillan Cancer Centre in central London for his first official public appearance since being diagnosed with cancer, after doctors said they were "very encouraged" by the progress of his treatment. Senegalese opposition leader Ousmane Sonko makes his first public appearance in months, greeting and waving at hundreds of supporters in the capital Dakar, a day after his release from prison. Sonko is welcomed by the crowd ahead of a press conference he was due to hold with his deputy, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, who was also released from prison on Thursday and who Sonko has endorsed as a candidate for the country's March 24 presidential vote.
