The "daily" task of guiding climbers to the top of Aconcagua

Description

Buenos Aires, Oct 29 (EFE) .- Hiking on the Aconcagua, the highest peak in America and the southern hemisphere, is a goal coveted by adventurers from all over the world and the usual activity of local mountain guides. STATEMENTS BY NILS FONTENLA, MOUNTAIN GUIDE AND MENDOZA DELEGATE OF THE ARGENTINE ASSOCIATION OF MOUNTAIN GUIDES:"On the Aconcagua, the normal access route is on the west or north-west side, it is the easiest with a softer slope. Why so many days? The idea is that our body has to adapt to the altitude, if we wanted to climb everything at once, like Mendoza's 700 meters to the summit of Aconcagua, in a few hours we would have difficulties which could worsen and we could die."
