An act of "sabotage" targeting communication infrastructure brought rail traffic in northern Germany to a standstill on Saturday morning (8 October), according to rail operator Deutsche Bahn. The halt in service affected the departure of passengers at Berlin's main railway station as, for almost three hours, all high-speed and regional connections in the north of the country, as well as freight traffic, were interrupted.
