    Bangkok, Jun 9 (EFE/EPA).- Cash-strapped Thais are being forced to sell off their valuable items to get by as Thailand's economy has been hit hard by Covid-19. Bangkok Metropolitan Administration-run pawn shops have lowered interest rates to 0.50 percent and extended the pawning period as an effort to help cash-strapped households to strive for their financial crisis caused by the coronavirus disease (COVD-19). Amid the pandemic economy halt, cash-strapped Thais flocked to pawnshops seeking for loans by selling off and pawn their valuables such as jewelry, gold, televisions, stereos sets, electronic devices as well as households kitchenware, including pots and pans, while many Thais have been forced out of work trading their profession tools for quick cash.
