Iowa Democrat J.D. Scholten is facing Republican Randy Feenstra in the state's 4th Congressional District. The predominantly Republican district is located in Northwestern Iowa and encompasses Ames and Sioux City. The district is currently represented by Rep. Steve King, whom Feenstra defeated in the Republican primaries. Scholten is a former professional baseball player who began his career in politics during the baseball offseason. According to Business Insider, Feenstra is a member of the Iowa State Senate representing the 2nd District. No results have been announced at this point. Polls in Iowa closed at 9 p.m. CT.
