World Health Organization chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus hails an international fundraising telethon as a powerful show of "global solidarity". The fundraiser, hosted by Ursula von der Leyen, head of the European Commission, saw world leaders pledge 7.4 billion euros ($8.1 billion) towards research for a vaccine against coronavirus.
