This is FEDOR, Russia's newest space robot ready to join the ranks of cosmonauts and fly to the final frontier. Space is a dangerous place, full of deadly radiation and extreme temperatures. Cosmonauts and astronauts working in space have one of the hazardous jobs imaginable, but they are about to get a very strong helping hand. FEDOR, which stands for Final Experimental Demonstration Object Research, is being prepared to man spaceships and space stations, and his creators have called him a veritable 'Robo-Gagarin'. The humanoid robot prototype, which is being tested in Magnitogorsk by Russian company Android Technica, operates in two different modes - an autonomous mode and a remote-controlled mode. Engineers on earth can put on a special suit which gives them the ability to take control of FEDOR's movements in space, enabling him to perform complex and intricate tasks while in orbit or traveling through the cosmos. FEDOR's creators are tasked with preparing him for one mission in particular. The robot will be on board Russia's Federatsiya spaceship, which will launch around 2021. The FEDOR project started in 2014 with the aim of helping rescue workers in disaster zones, but the robot is now being evaluated for future roles in space, in education, and even in the military.

A creative collective from Moscow calling themselves the Sunrise Expedition have been making waves on Russian social media for one of the most ambitious adventures ever undertaken by a musical group. These traveling musicians, illustrators, and tattoo artists have traveled tens of thousands of miles all over Europe and Asia on Soviet-made Volga cars in order to perform concerts wherever the wind takes them. They drove out from Moscow in fall of 2016, traveled across Asia to Bali, Indonesia by car, and arrived back in Moscow in early 2017, becoming the first musicians to perform in Tibet in the process. The Sunrise Expedition have embarked on a new journey called "To the Atlantic," with the aim of driving all the way out to the famous surf city of Nazare, Portugal. Ruptly caught up with the adventurers in Berlin.
This may be the oddest robot that we've ever seen. Meet Larifuga, the robot house that's designed to walk on her 8 feet. You heard right, this robot prototype of a walking building was designed by architects of Russia's Samara State Technical University and was exhibited in Volgograd on Wednesday. You'll never guess what this machine is designed to do. The designers claim that Larifuga can become a cheap office-space alternative for today's small businesses. The anatomy of the prototype’s legs is designed to replicate the limbs of mammals, reptiles and insects. Four of the legs always stay still when the robot moves to make sure that it doesn't tip over. The prototype is currently made of laminate, but designers are planning to use metal and concrete in the future, just like a real house. This desire led him to create the MAXBIONIC, an Iron-Man style arm that allows users to move the fingers with their mind.
