Ethiopia's government denounces claims from rebel groups that the capital Addis Ababa would fall under siege as "not true". In a virtual press conference, the spokesperson of the Prime Minister's office, Billene Seyoum, adds "There is an alarmist narrative that is creating much tension among different communities, including the international community, that needs to be effectively addressed." Oozing volcanic mud, known as lahar, blanketed numerous villages on the Indonesian island of Bali after seeping from Mount Agung’s rumbling volcano on Tuesday. The grey mud, which is a mixture of pyroclastic rock and water, flowed along rivers, streams and creeks as tens of thousands continue to evacuate from areas near the volcano. Indonesia's National Disaster Agency ordered anyone within a 10 kilometer, or 6.2 mile, radius to leave immediately, fearing a “major” eruption.
