Police shot and killed an armed black man in St. Louis on Wednesday, drawing an angry crowd of as many as 150 people at the scene of the shooting, some of whom reportedly hurled objects at officers, according to a Reuters report.
An African American man armed with a knife was killed by St. Louis County police in front of his home on Friday evening, sparking renewed protests against excessive force by police officers.
Dozens of protesters marched through the streets of Charlotte on Sunday, for the sixth day running following the fatal police shooting of a 43-year-old black man named Keith Lamont Scott. The National Guards as well as police were deployed to secure the area, including a helicopter, riot police on buses, as well as officers on bicycles and golf cars. At least one person was arrested during the peaceful protest and activists were forced to march on the sidewalk as they made their way to the city centre.
