Lisbon (Portugal), Jul 27 (EFE), (Camera: Nacho Ballesteros).- Spanish and Portuguese palaeontologists have discovered a new dinosaur species, Lusovenator (“hunter of Lusitania”), which lived 145 million years ago. SOUNDBITES OF:-FERNANDO ESCASO, PALEONTOLOGIST AT UNED:"The holotype is normally smaller and we estimate that it would be 3 meters long, but the other species would reach 6-7 meters, which ita medium size for this species. But this doesn't mean the Lusovenator is that size, we don't know yet. It's a reptile, it could grow and we don't know what size it could reach. " -ELISABETE MALAFAIA, PALEONTOLOGIST AT THE UNIVERSITY OF LISBON."It's not common to find the whole skeleton, we normally find only parts. It's a relatively well-known group, normally in the Cretaceous."

Footage courtesy of the Oregon Zoo shows Nora, a 10-month old polar bear cub, playing in a tub full of ice and swimming around in a pool while she was adjusting to her new home. Nora was born in the Columbus Zoo in Ohio back in November 2015 and flew in to Portland just last month. The adorable little cub will soon join 31-year-old female Tasul in the polar bear exhibit. Nora will join Tasul and other polar bears at the Oregon Zoo in helping climate scientists track polar bear diets and movements using a high-tech collar. The data is being used to help researchers develop methods to investigate the effect of retreating sea ice on polar bears.
