A police officer shot and killed a man Saturday afternoon after responding to a ‘suspicious activity’ report in Sunnyvale, California. Two Sunnyvale police officers responded to a report of ‘suspicious activity’ involving two men at a Motel 6 on Saturday afternoon, Sunnyvale public safety Captain Shawn Ahearn said in a press conference on Saturday evening.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department says that ten people have been killed in a shooting in a predominantly Asian city in southern California, and "at least ten additional victims that were transported to numerous local hospitals". The gunman opened fire at a dance venue in Monterey Park, as the local community were celebrating Lunar New Year, and remains at large hours later according to the police. SOUNDBITE
