Aerial footage shows hundreds of Palestinian mourners taking part in the funeral of Islamic Jihad official Iyad al-Hassani, killed in an Israeli air strike, in Gaza City. IMAGES
Mourners attend the funeral procession of a woman and two children who were killed in an Israeli strike that targeted Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr in Beirut's southern suburb a day earlier. The Israeli military said its fighter jets "eliminated" Shukr in the area of Beirut, accusing him of being responsible for a rocket strike on the annexed Golan Heights, while a source close to Hezbollah said he was the target but that he survived the strike. Palestinian mourners gather for the funeral of three people killed in Jenin in an Israeli air strike on their vehicle. The Israeli military said it had "eliminated" Ahmed Barakat, who it accused of a May 2023 attack that killed an Israeli settler. Jenin and its adjacent refugee camp are a stronghold of armed Palestinian groups opposing Israel, which has occupied the West Bank since 1967. Israeli troops regularly carry out incursions into Palestinian communities but until several months ago had rarely struck the West Bank from the air. IMAGES

Smoke billows following an Israeli air strike on southern Rafah in Gaza as the conflict sparked by the October 7 Hamas attacks rages on. Israel warned the Gaza war will continue throughout 2024 as unrelenting strikes killed dozens in the Palestinian territory and Hamas fired a rocket barrage at the stroke of midnight. IMAGES
Smoke rises following an Israeli air strike west of Rafah, in the south of the Gaza Strip. Israel said a four-day Gaza truce and hostage release will not start until at least Friday, stalling a breakthrough deal to pause the war with Hamas. IMAGES
