Die Mannschaft, the official nickname of the German national football team, had the privilege to be the honored guests of a private audience with Pope Francis in Apostolic Palace in Vatican City on Monday. The Argentinian-born Pope Francis is football fan and was able to brush off Germany's surprise last gasp 2-1 win over Argentina in extra time in the final of the 2014 World Cup held in Brazil. However, Germany lost out to France in the semi-finals of this year's Euro football championship.
07/07/16 : France played against Germany for the last semifinal of Euro 2016. Thanks to Griezmann, the Blues won the game and can now join Portugal for the last step of the competition. It is an historical match since France has not won against Germany since a few years.
