Escape from Planet Earth is an animated family comedy that catapults moviegoers to planet Baab where admired astronaut Scorch Supernova (Brendan Fraser) is a national hero to the blue alien population. A master of daring rescues, Scorch pulls off astonishing feats with the quiet aid of his nerdy, by-the-rules brother, Gary (Rob Corddry), head of mission control at BASA, and James Bing (Ricky Gervais) BASA's officious computer, always available to advise Mission Control, whether they want it or not. When BASA's no-nonsense chief Lena (Jessica Alba) informs the brothers of an SOS from a notoriously dangerous planet, Scorch rejects Gary's warnings and bounds off for yet another exciting mission. But when Scorch finds himself caught in a fiendish trap set by the evil Shanker (William Shatner), it's up to scrawny, risk-adverse Gary to do the real rescuing. As the interplanetary stakes rise to new heights, Gary is left to save his brother, his planet, his beloved wife Kira (Sarah Jessica Parker) and their adventure-hungry son Kip. Escape from Planet Earth features an all-star voice cast including Brendan Fraser (The Mummy, The Quiet American), Sarah Jessica Parker ("Sex in the City," New Year's Eve), William Shatner ("Star Trek," "Boston Legal"), Jessica Alba (Fantastic Four, Little Fockers), Ricky Gervais ("The Office", "The Ricky Gervais Show"), Jane Lynch ("Glee," 40 Year Old Virgin), Rob Corddry (Seeking a Friend for the End of the World, Hot Tub Time Machine), Sofía Vergara ("Modern Family," The Three Stooges), Craig Robinson ("The Office," Hot Tub Time Machine), George Lopez (Beverly Hills Chihuahua, "The George Lopez Show"), Steve Zahn ("Treme," Diary of a Wimpy Kid), Chris Parnell ("SNL," Hotel Transylvania), and Jonathan Morgan Heit ("Family Guy," "Jake and the Neverland Pirates").
