Buy LATE SEPTEMBER on Viva Verve here: http://bit.ly/R7u9p3 Applauded for its refreshingly honest approach, LATE SEPTEMBER takes place over a 24 hour period and follows the course and aftermath of a birthday celebration arranged by a middle-aged woman for her husband to whom she has been married for nearly 40 years. As the day and night progress, old rifts, new relationships and secrets emerge amongst friends, and the underlying tensions in the marriage can no longer be contained. In order to liberate the dramatic and emotional content, director Jon Sanders (Painted Angels, Low Tide) employed a technique whereby the experienced cast improvise each scene, giving the film a distinctively authentic touch. Played out with intensity and honesty within the grounds of a picturesque Kent house, in the shadows of late September, this is a warm, humorous and beautifully subtle film that ultimately grows into a profoundly moving exploration of what it is like approaching old age.
In cinemas August 9th 2013 - Looking For Hortense is a bittersweet 'comedie de moeurs' that is French in spirit but universal in appeal. Damien (Jean-Pierre Bacri), a Chinese civilization professor, lives with his partner, Iva (Kristin Scott Thomas), a stage director, and their son Noé. The couple's relationship has drifted into routine that has drained it of love. Damien finds himself trapped one day by Iva, who orders him to ask his father, a senior member of the French Council of State, for help in preventing Zorica (Isabelle Carré), a woman Iva knows, from being deported. But Damien and his father don't get on and are barely ever in touch with each other. This dangerous mission throws Damien into a spiral that will turn his life upside down.
Written and directed by Tom Petch, ex-Army, The Patrol takes a piercing look at the conflict in Afghanistan through the eyes of a British Army patrol who, alongside the Afghan Army, are fighting the Taliban, an invisible, deadly enemy. When a Special Forces Operation prompts a Taliban counter attack in Helmand Province the unit's three day patrol hits double figures. Faced with low ammunition, injury and rising tensions under the command of a captain who is out of touch with his men, the exhausted, disillusioned soldiers question their role in the war.
In Cinemas August 20, 2014 WHAT IF is the funny, feel-good story of Wallace, who's been repeatedly burned by bad relationships. So while everyone around him, including his roommate Allan, seems to be finding the perfect partner, Wallace decides to put his love life on hold. It is then that he meets Chantry, an animator who lives with her long term boyfriend Ben. Acting with the best of intentions and a touch of denial, Wallace and Chantry take on the challenge of being just friends. The adventure is both rocky and very funny as our protagonists navigate the perils of unintended nude camping, risqué wardrobe malfunctions and generally terrible advice from their friends. WHAT IF stars Daniel Radcliffe (Woman in Black, the Harry Potter franchise), Zoe Kazan (Ruby Sparks) Adam Driver (Girls, Star Wars 7), Rafe Spall (I Give it a Year) and Oona Chaplin (Game of Thrones).
Official trailer for VAMPIRES, released in the UK and Ireland on DVD on 24th October 2011. VAMPIRES combines the darkly satiric edge of all-time cult classic MAN BITES DOG with a fresh and funny take on the much-loved conventions of the vampire film. After a few failed attempts (costing the lives of some crew members) a TV crew interviews a family of malcontent vampires for a documentary. George and Bertha are your classic modern day parents, remote and out of touch with their kids' lives, bourgeois-boring, and, of course, consummate drinkers of human blood. Their teenage daughter Grace is on a fast track to self-destruction while their errant son Samson carries on like a blood-sucking Casanova, leaving a trail of bodies in his wake. Hilarious and disquieting in equal measure. For further information please visit www.axiomfilms.co.uk
