French lawyer Juan Branco arrives at a Paris courthouse to try to meet his client Piotr Pavlenski, the Russian activist who released the sex video of Paris mayoral candidate Benjamin Griveaux, a prominent ally of French President Emmanuel Macron. Prosecutors have requested Branco be removed from the case, but Branco denies any involvement in the publication of the video. IMAGES
Cédric Villani, the dissident ex-LREM candidate for mayor of Paris, posts a tweet in reaction to the announcement that Benjamin Griveaux has withdrawn his candidacy for the local elections in March 2020. Griveaux withdrew after the release of a sex video on social media. Villani offered his support, saying the "undignified attack he suffered is a grave threat to our democracy". IMAGES
