Honda revealed the European production version of the all-new CR-V. The new generation of the SUV raises the bar in terms of interior quality, refinement and spaciousness – including, for the first time, the option of seven seats. For the first time ever, Honda hybrid technology will be offered in an SUV for Europe. The all-new CR-V will be available with Honda’s Intelligent Multi Mode Drive (i-MMD) hybrid system, comprising a 2.0 litre i-VTEC Atkinson cycle petrol engine and two electric motors, to deliver real-world efficiency and effortless driveability. A 1.5-litre VTEC TURBO petrol engine, which provides strong performance and class-leading fuel economy, is also available. First deliveries of Honda CR-V fitted with the 1.5-litre VTEC TURBO petrol engine are expected in Autumn 2018 with hybrid models following early in 2019.

Honda’s March 2020 press conference delivered by Tom Gardner, Senior Vice President, Honda Motor Europe. The press conference reinforces Honda’s Electric Vision and its bold commitment that all mainstream models sold in Europe will be electrified by the end of 2022. The next step on this journey will be this year, with the introduction of the fully-electric Honda e and the all-new Jazz with hybrid technology. Through 2021 and 2022, four further new models will be introduced, including a new SUV and an additional electric vehicle. Honda’s branding will also change to reflect this vision, with every next-generation electrified product or energy management innovation coming under the collective name of ‘Honda e:TECHNOLOGY’.
