An 18-year-old woman had suffered from depression after the passing of her mother two years before. The COVID-19 pandemic and academic stress made it worse. But according to Business Insider, the woman's landlord evicted her because she shared with her roommates that she was contemplating suicide. According to Business Insider, the woman says her roommates were dismissive and uninterested in her state of mind, which made her feel even more isolated. Soon after her disclosure, the woman received a letter alleging she had violated her lease by interfering with her roommates' 'quiet enjoyment' of their apartment. The landlord also accused her of committing 'endangerment of human life, assault, harassment, nuisance, and disturbance of the peace.' The woman says has contacted the building's management, Ventana Student Housing, but has not received a response.
