A wonder goal by Eder in extra time sent Portugal into madness and France into a historic disappointment. Portugese streets were filled with fans celebrating their first Euro title ever.
After just narrowly leading the Portuguese national football team out of the group stages of the Euro 2016 tournament in a breathtaking match against Hungary, Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo led his teammates in a training session in Marcoussis, France ahead of their competition quarter final match against Poland. The Portuguese captain was seen laughing and joking while passing the ball with striker Ricardo Quaresma.
Euro 2016 champions Portugal received a heroes' welcome on arrival to Lisbon on Monday evening, following their 1-0 triumph over France in the Euro 2016 final on Sunday. The victorious players and triumphant coach Fernando Santos paraded through the Portuguese capital on the back of an open-top bus, accompanied by the wild cheers of thousands of fans. They then entered the Presidential palace, where they were to be formally received by Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.
