SHORT TERM 12 IN CINEMAS ON 1st NOV 2013 www.vivaverve.com/shortterm12 Twitter: @ShortTerm12UK Facebook: /ShortTerm12UK "Just watched the captivating Short Term 12. Can't wait until it is released so we can all talk about it." - Lena Dunham, creator of Girls Short Term 12 was the toast of this year's South by Southwest (SXSW) festival, winning both the Grand Jury Prize in the Narrative Feature Competition and the Audience Award. Told through the eyes of Grace (Brie Larson), a twenty-something supervisor at a foster-care facility for at-risk teenagers, Short Term 12 is written and directed by Destin Cretton. Passionate and tough, Grace is a formidable caretaker of the kids in her charge, and in love with her long-term boyfriend and co-worker, Mason (John Gallagher Jr). But Grace's own difficult past, and the surprising future that suddenly presents itself, throw her into unforeseen confusion, made all the sharper with the arrival of a new intake at the facility: a gifted but troubled teenage girl with whom Grace has a charged connection. While the subject matter is complex and often dark, Short Term 12 finds truth, and humour, in unexpected places. Winner - Grand Jury Prize, SXSW Film Festival Winner - Audience Award, SXSW Film Festival Winner - Best Actress (Brie Larson), Locarno Film Festival Special Jury Mention - Locarno Film Festival
SHADOW DANCER is the new film from Academy Award® winning director James Marsh (Man on Wire, Red Riding, Project Nim) starring Andrea Riseborough (W.E, Made in Dagenham), Academy Award® nominee and Golden Globe® winner Clive Owen and Emmy®, Golden Globe®, and SAG award-winning actress, Gillian Anderson. SHADOW DANCER originated as a novel, written by Tom Bradby during his time as a TV correspondent in Northern Ireland in the 1990s. Tom Bradby adapted his novel for the big screen and SHADOW DANCER is his first feature film. Single mother Collette McVeigh (Andrea Riseborough) is a Republican living in Belfast with her mother and hardliner IRA brothers. When she is arrested for her part in an aborted IRA bomb plot in London, an MI5 officer Mac (Clive Owen) offers her a choice: lose everything and go to prison for 25 years or return to Belfast to spy on her own family. With her son's life in her hands, Collette chooses to place her trust in Mac and return home, but when her brothers' secret operation is ambushed, suspicions of an informant are raised and Collette finds both herself and her family in grave danger. SHADOW DANCER will be released by Paramount Pictures on August 25, 2012.
Burke & Hare is a comedic take on the true story of the 1828 Edinburgh body-snatchers William Burke (Simon Pegg) and William Hare (Andy Serkis). These two Irish entrepreneurs, spurred on by a chance meeting with a gorgeous actress (Isla Fisher), discover that a dead body can fetch a hefty price when the demands of the leading medical professors Dr. Knox (Tom Wilkinson) and Dr. Monroe (Tim Curry) reach beyond that of the local supply.
IT’S HOLLYWOOD, BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT The Weiss family are an archetypical Hollywood dynasty - Dr Stafford Weiss (John Cusack) is a psychotherapist whose self-help books have made him a fortune. His wife Cristina (Olivia Williams) is the overbearing mom-ager of their thirteen-year old son, Benjie (Evan Bird), a prodigious child star fresh out of drug rehab and their estranged daughter Agatha (Mia Wasikowska) has recently been released from a psychiatric hospital. Agatha is now back in Hollywood making friends with a wannabe actor/writer limo driver named Jerome (Robert Pattinson) and with a new job as PA to one of Stafford’s clients - the neurotic and tempestuous actress Havana Segrand (Julianne Moore), whose dream of reprising her dead mother’s starring role from the 1960s is beginning to haunt her. Exploring the demons of our celebrity-obsessed society, David Cronenberg’s MAPS TO THE STARS is written by Bruce Wagner and also stars Sarah Gadon and Carrie Fisher. MAPS TO THE STARS will be released in cinemas across the UK & Ireland on September 26. https://www.facebook.com/MapsToTheStarsUK https://twitter.com/MapsStarsFilmUK
www.TheLast5YearsMovie.co.uk Coming 2015. Starring Anna Kendrick and Jeremy Jordan. THE LAST FIVE YEARS by Tony award winning composer/lyricist Jason Robert Brown is a musical deconstruction of a love affair and a marriage taking place over a five year period. Jamie Wellerstein is a young, talented up and coming novelist who falls in love with Cathy Hiatt, a struggling actress. Their story is told almost entirely through songs using an intercutting time line device; all of Cathy’s songs begin at the end of their marriage and move backwards in time to the beginning of their love affair while Jamie’s songs start at the beginning of their affair and move forward to the end of their marriage. Its beautiful pop music score portrays an honest, heartbreaking, often funny, exploration of love and it's consequences on individual identity.
