A cognitive psychologist in Montreal wanted to see how the musical mind responds to different compositions, so he looked inside Sting's brain.
New York resident Rachel Palma this past fall got some wonderful news--for her. Palma had complained of worsening symptoms of insomnia, forgetfulness, and hallucinations--and feared she was developing a brain tumor. Fortunately, Gizmodo reports that wasn't the case at all. But the true source of the woman's problems can be definitely filed under "ick!" Doctors initially diagnosed Palma with brain cancer, after spotting a lesion on her MRI scan. But when they performed surgery on her last September to remove the supposed tumor, they instead found a ball-shaped mucus-colored cyst. And once they cracked open the cyst, they found a pork tapeworm larva. And while up to 10 percent of people hospitalized for the rare condition die, after the doctors removed the tapeworm, her symptoms largely disappeared.
Marijuanna is slowly becoming legal across the U.S. and it's time we learn more about it. Here are a few simple effects it can have on you.
(CNN) Ariana Grande took to Instagram to share photos of her brain scan that she says shows post-traumatic stress disorder. PTSD is an anxiety disorder that can develop in some people after witnessing or being involved in traumatic events. Charles B. Nemeroff, M.D., Ph. D., Professor of Psychiatry at The University of Texas at Austin said several studies have shown changes in the brains of patients with PTSD.
Ariana Grande fans well know that the singer is one to share her emotions with her online family through good times and bad times. We get to witness her celebrating her Billboard Woman of the Year award by getting tattoos with her 93-year-old grandmother and she also shares vulnerable moments and insights, like how she believes music "saved her life." "About to embark on my third tour and am for sure deep as fuck in my feelings and getting my period so.... this is probably gonna be too much," she wrote recently on Instagram.
