German business morale rose more than expected in September, a survey shows, suggesting company executives in Europe's largest economy have become more optimistic after their morale plunged last month over concerns about Brexit. Sonia Legg reports.
The Bank of England holds its interest rate at a 16-year high, insisting it was not yet the right time to cut with inflation staying high despite a fall to just above three percent. "That's encouraging. But we are not yet at a point where we can cut bank rates," he tells a press conference. IMAGES
"I still have more high probability for 2024 to break the record," explains the World Meteorological Organization's (WMO) chief of climate monitoring, Omar Baddour, during a presentation of the annual State of the Climate report.
