Five Audi R8 LMS cars from three customer teams are taking part in the 2023 DTM season. Two cars each from ABT Sportsline and the Tresor Orange1 team, as well as one entry from Liqui Moly Team Engstler. The season opener took place with two exciting races at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben.

Fuel economy is rated up to 20 mpg city, 30 mpg highway and 24 mpg combined.Maxima SR builds on the sedan's already sporty personality with sport-tuned suspension, a larger rear stabilizer bar, paddle shifters, gloss black 19-inch wheels, aluminum sport pedals, a rear spoiler and an Active Sound Enhancement system that further enhances the engine's sound in the cabin.
Team Audi Sport contested the Baja España Aragón around Teruel in eastern Spain for the first time. The competition, in which Audi competed outside the classification, together with a previous test marked the start of the squad’s six-month preparation for the 2024 Dakar Rally. While Carlos Sainz/Lucas Cruz finished in the Audi RS Q e-tron, Mattias Ekström/Emil Bergkvist retired after a water crossing caused damage to the power steering pump. In the case of Stéphane Peterhansel/Edouard Boulanger, a faulty sensor with consequences for the electric drive ended the race prematurely.
As part of the 40 years of Audi Sport GmbH celebrations, three former champions for Audi in the DTM took part in the 2023 Nürburgring 24 Hours. Mike Rockenfeller, Timo Scheider and Martin Tomczyk took part in the race with Audi Sport Team Scherer PHX.
